Privacy Policy
Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the waitlist and, later, the product. We don't sell your data to anyone. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Babel (heybabel.com) is a pre-launch product operated by its founder. If you have any question about this policy, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your IP address, used only to rate-limit signups and block abusive/disposable-email addresses
- A referral code, if you were invited by another waitlist member, and how many people you refer
This data is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV (Cloudflare's edge key-value store) and is not shared with any third party for marketing purposes.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to understand how visitors use this site:
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymized session behavior (clicks, scrolls, page navigation) and generates heatmaps so we can see where people get stuck. Clarity sets cookies to distinguish return visits. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Google Analytics 4 — standard pageview and event analytics. GA4 sets cookies and may share aggregated, non-identifying data with Google. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Advertising
Babel is pre-launch and does not currently run advertising on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated first and this section will name the ad network used.
Cookies
Cookies on this site come only from the analytics tools above (Clarity + GA4). We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can block or clear these cookies at any time in your browser settings without affecting your ability to join the waitlist.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export, or permanently delete any data we hold about you — including removing your email from the waitlist — by emailing [email protected]. We'll act on verified requests within 30 days.
Data retention
Waitlist entries are kept until launch (so we can invite you) or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
